The SPIRITSTITCHING CIRCLE & CLUB is a yearly yarn club and stitching circle for people who knit (or crochet!) with mindful intention. Much like other yarn clubs, every other month, a shipment will arrive at your doorstep with a special, club-only Intention Yarn, a pattern, explanation of and suggestions for the theme of the month(s), and some goodies selected to go along with the theme. UNlike other yarn clubs, however, this is not just for sock/fingering weight yarns -- we'll range between several weights, all done in the fabulous Intention Yarn colorways.
As many projects done for others (and ourselves!) are done to be quick and easy, we're looking to provide you with simple projects you can knit for those who need them -- whether that be for charity or family, or even ourselves. There will be some months where dual projects are given -- maybe one in knit and one in crochet, for example -- to help you expand your range of skills while creating beautiful, spirit-infused items to keep or share.
In addition to your regular club goodies, there will be a charity highlighted in each of the newsletters that's looking for donations of handmade goods, and even better -- 10% of the purchase price of any club yarn ordered within the two months of the shipment will be donated to charity. You're not only stitching for a purpose, you're donating to a worthy cause. Better still, you can order the club colorway in any of the available yarn weights as a club member, and the donation still applies.
We're working on setting up a members area here on the IntentionYarns.com site, as well, with special message boards and a community gallery so that you can get to know your fellow club members, and share ideas, successes, and friendship with us all. Participation isn't mandatory, but it should be fun.
Sign-up opens for pre-registration on September 15th, 2008, and will be open through January 15th, 2009, or until the maximum number of sign-ups is reached. We can handle quite a few, but there's a limit, as we're only human. :)
THE SPECIFICS:
Once you sign up, a confirmation email will be in the e-mail you used within a few days, and the first shipment will be in the mailstream by the end of February, 2009.

Should there be any delay in shipment, you'll be notified right away. (Just thinking about the Incredible Exploding Appendix Incident of 2008, and making a few plans, just in case, see.) :)
The bimonthly newsletter will be delivered to you via PDF so that you can print them if you'd like, or save a tree and read it right online. We're trying very hard to keep this as eco-friendly as possible. (Patterns will be paper patterns in your bi-monthly box, however. We're looking for a local green printer as we speak. We'll keep all members posted.) Newsletters will go out roughly one week after the last box is shipped, to avoid any spoilers for those who love surprises, unless we can figure out a way to let you download it when you get the box. We're working on that, too.
International members ARE allowed, but the shipping is a little higher. We strongly encourage any of our more scientific members to prototype a nice transporter system to create a more level playing field. (We'd totally donate some free yarn to *that* cause. Wouldn't you?)
The cost for all of 2009's club is $215, tax and shipping included for US residents. You'll have two options for each of the shipping destinations (US and Worldwide) -- either a pay up front version for a $5 discount (total of $210), or a payment plan ($107.50 due at the time of sign-up, $107 due at the end of December.) For people outside the US, cost is $265 -- or upfront for the $5 discount/ 2 payments of $132.50. (Shipping internationally just kills us these days; we apologize for the extra cost.)
If life happens to you, too, and you can't participate for any reason before the club shipments start, a full refund can be issued. After the first shipment goes out, we can't issue refunds. If you sell your membership to another fiber enthusiast, you'll need to be the one to talk to us to get the shipment addresses changed, etc., which we can do for you.
We're looking to not only provide you with a club full of yarn and goodies, but a full year of stitching mindfully and with purpose, amid friends and fellow travellers. Hope you can join us on this journey of faith and fiber!
